THE BOXIE SYSTEM

Assess. Organize. Decide. Route. Finish. Preserve.

These six steps are designed to move a household project from “I need to deal with this” to done.

AssessWhat are you trying to solve?
OrganizeBring related things together.
DecideChoose what stays, what leaves and what needs another decision.
RouteGive every outgoing item or next action a real destination.
FinishMake the donation, file the paper, send the photo, close the account.
PreserveKeep the record, story or routine worth keeping.
A SIMPLE EXAMPLE

Take a box of old family photographs.

You open it because you want the photographs to be usable instead of sitting in a closet. First you see what's there. Then you separate obvious duplicates, identify the people and dates you can, decide what should stay with you and what family members might want, scan the photographs worth digitizing, send the promised copies, and label what you keep.

The point isn't the labels. The point is that the box is no longer an unfinished decision.
